Answer
My Department has Member State responsibility for the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme and co-sponsor responsibility, with the Irish Government’s Department of Public Expenditure & Reform, for the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), which manages its implementation. Many interventions are delivered through this programme in line with the Together: Building a United Community Strategy, along various themes including Children & Young People, Local Authority Action Plans and Shared Spaces & Services.
The Strategy also has a key role in helping the Executive achieve previously published draft Programme for Government and NICS Outcome Delivery Plans, particularly in relation to the outcome of people wanting to live, work and visit here. The Department’s Permanent Secretary, Sue Gray, has ownership of that outcome, providing support and challenge to ensure the collective actions within the outcome are successfully delivered.
