Answer
As I advised in my response to AQW 26687/17-22, the harbour at Kircubbin is in private ownership and therefore is the responsibility of the owner. I can advise that my officials have inspected the area and have confirmed that the erosion remains several metres away from the public road boundary and the integrity of the road is not at risk.
There are no plans to take any measures to force the owner to put right their property. My Department will only take action if there is a risk to the safety or integrity of the public road. I have asked officials to continue to monitor this area and reassess the situation should the erosion worsen.
