Answer
Section 10 of the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act 2021 (‘the Act’), which allows local producers of alcoholic drinks to apply to the courts for a licence to sell alcohol for consumption off the premises, came into effect on 6 April 2022. The first local producer’s licence was granted on 25 April.
Section 11 of the Act, which allows licensed local producers to apply to the courts for a suitability order and authorisation for consumption in the premises, will commence on 1 June 2022.
