Answer
Essential resurfacing works of The Strand, Castle Street, and Loughshore Road in Portaferry have been carefully planned to take place during the period in which the vehicle ferry is not operational beginning on Monday 14 October 2024. Traffic control arrangements will be in place with limited use of full road closures to facilitate the final resurfacing phases.
The passenger ferry will be using the pontoon opposite Ferry Street at the end of the resurfacing works. Pedestrian access will be maintained during the resurfacing works.
Anyone wishing to park and use the passenger ferry service will be directed to the free council car parks at Meetinghouse Street and The Rope Walk.
If there are any concerns regarding motorists parking vehicles in such a manner that causes an obstruction, or blocking access or egress, then please refer the matter to the PSNI who are the enforcement authority using their non-emergency number 101.
