AQW 23687/22-27 Written question to the Minister for Communities
To ask the Minister for Communities, in light of the UK Government committing to legislate to ban no fault evictions and introducing Awaab's law, to detail any actions he will take during the remainder of the 2022-2027 mandate to ensure tenants are not left behind by this legislation not being replicated in Northern Ireland.

Answer
I have no plans to introduce legislation to ban no fault evictions. As you are aware, my department is already taking forward work, as mandated by the Assembly, to increase security of tenure through the introduction of much longer notice to quit periods.
Also, my department is closely following the progress of Awaab’s law and officials are monitoring developments to consider the most appropriate approach here.
