AQW 24721/22-27 Written question to the Minister for Communities
To ask the Minister for Communities whether he will ensure a purpose built student accommodation regulation will be included in the development of private rented sector regulations to protect tenants, including enabling students to end a contract by giving one months' notice and to require building owners or a management company to provide at least 24-hour notice before entering rooms.

Answer
My Department does not regulate purpose-built student accommodation. The Department for Economy has responsibility for higher education policy in relation to teaching and research, university managed student accommodation including halls of residence and purpose-built student accommodation.
As this is outside the scope of private rented sector regulations, I will not be including the suggestions put forward.
