Answer
The Housing Executive operates the Sanctuary Scheme, which is a multi-agency initiative to enable households, at risk of domestic abuse, to remain in their homes by installing additional security measures which may include a “Sanctuary Room” within the property.
This scheme is currently only available to Housing Executive tenants. However, the Housing Executive recently published a Domestic Abuse Action Plan which includes plans to explore the potential of extending the Sanctuary Scheme to Housing Association tenants.
