Answer
I have been clear that we must deliver on the Programme for Government commitment to increase the supply of social homes, but we must also ensure that our allocation system prioritises households in greatest objective need. The Fundamental Review of Social Housing Allocations underwent full public consultation and equality impact assessment and all proposals were supported. Implementation of the agreed changes has included ongoing stakeholder engagement, led by the Housing Executive, to inform implementation. My officials have analysed the brief referred to and continue to work with the Housing Executive on implementation of the remaining recommendations.
My officials work closely with the Housing Executive to ensure that all evidence-based stakeholder contributions are considered through established consultation and evidence-gathering processes when preparing to implement the recommendations. This evidence is considered by my Department in respect of each recommendation.
