Answer
When road closures are necessary in an emergency situation such as a risk to life or danger to or from traffic, my departmental officials work closely with the PSNI who have the responsibly for closures in these instances.
During storm events my departmental officials attend multi agency co-ordination meetings, to update blue light services, the Education Authority, Translink and local councils on issues impacting the travelling public. This information is also disseminated widely through the use of my department’s social media and its TrafficwatchNI website.
Where roads are closed, signage is placed on site and diversion routes will be signed where appropriate.
