Answer

My senior officials attend the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) 'Housing Strategy Meetings’, alongside NI Water and other stakeholders, which are focused on unlocking capacity for new social homes.

Departmental officials also meet regularly with DfI colleagues, including through the Supply Strategy action planning process, to develop strategic actions which can address wastewater capacity issues and prioritise housing supply.

Alongside this, the Housing Executive maintains on-going engagement with NI Water to review the status of all proposed new social housing schemes currently included in the Social Housing Development Programme (SHDP).

In addition to the on-going assessment of programmed new social housing schemes, the Housing Executive also engages with NI Water regarding new housing delivery beyond the current 3-Year SHDP in the context of long-term housing need and NI Water’s next Price Control period (PC28).
