Answer
This issue is an operational matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive, who has advised me as follows:
“There are three proposed new social housing schemes (with an associated 24 new social homes) included in the 2025/26 Social Housing Development Programme (SHDP) for the Strangford Parliamentary Constituency:
2-6 North Street, Newtownards (Arbour Housing – 10 units).
Castle Street, Comber (Radius Housing – 13 units).
Parsonage Close, Kircubbin (Rural Housing – 1 unit).
For all three scheme proposals, Applications for Project Approval (with associated Economic Appraisals/Business Cases) have been submitted to the Housing Executive’s Development Programme Group (DPG). These proposals are currently under assessment and Project Approval has yet to be confirmed. Planning Approvals for all three scheme proposals are already in place. Please note that the Housing Executive does not record SHDP data by District Electoral Area.”
