Answer
While there is no starter pack available for tenants moving from temporary housing into a private rented sector home, a range of information and advice is available to support those taking up a private tenancy.
Landlords in the private rented sector are required to provide tenants with a tenancy agreement and a tenancy information notice, which set out the key terms of the tenancy and the respective rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants.
The Department also funds Housing Rights to deliver independent advice and guidance to private tenants, including support on accessing and maintaining private rented tenancies.
In addition, a Discretionary Housing Payment may also be available to support tenants moving from temporary accommodation to the private rented sector.
