Answer

At this current time, there are no plans to employ dentists in general dental practices directly by the Health Service.

All children are entitled to free dental care up to their 18th birthday, and those aged 18 and in full-time education. Due to the capacity issues caused by the pandemic, however, and to ensure that this limited capacity is targeted appropriately, the guidance issued to all dentists recommends that patients requiring emergency or urgent care are given the highest priority.
